Many men suffer from baldness, it isn’t uncommon for this trait to occur. It can affect men of all ages, but there are ways to disguise your baldness.  Women can also suffer from hair thinning, causing a big drop in confidence and self-esteem. But like men, there are many ways women disguise their hair thinning and baldness.

From wigs, to combover, to growing facial hair to distract the loss of hair you are suffering. People have found plenty of innovative and interesting ways to disguise their baldness.

Wigs and Hats

As this can be a sensitive subject for many, wigs can sometimes be an option when thinning hair around the temples or on the forehead becomes too visible. Wigs can help people to boost their self-esteem and confidence.

There are two types of wigs you can choose; wigs that cover the entire scalp, and partial hair pieces that only cover thinning hair or spots.

Although some may ridicule this technique, this classic way of disguising your baldness is still used by men today. Forlorn men still sport this hairstyle, with variations that include comb-forwards and comb-backwards.

Facial Hair

Growing your facial hair is a classic distraction from your baldness. Many men have opted for thick beards to distract people from their balding scalp.

There are many options you could choose, from growing a distinguished moustache, growing heavy or light stubble, to growing a full beard. However, if you don’t have the luxury of being able to grow your facial hair, whether this is caused by genetics or the same condition that has caused your balding, this isn’t a realistic option.

Scalp Micropigmentation

While all these other methods can provide a quick fix, they often don’t offer an option that looks natural and is long-lasting. Scalp Micropigmentation, on the other hand is a great option as it is ideal for those who may find they simply do not necessitate the implementation of a transplant, or are unsuitable for more invasive techniques of generating or promoting hair growth.

This therapy is similar to that of a tattoo as trained hair specialists add small strokes of colour pigmentation to your scalp. Through carefully building up colour on the scalp, this helps to improve the colour depth and create an illusion of density that would otherwise previously be lacking.

This can be applied to areas of thin or thinning hair as well as being used on smooth areas to create the appearance of a close shave. At DHI Manchester, our trained hair specialists conduct the micropigmentation treatment.
